The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has intensified efforts to strengthen students’ data integration in Lagos State following a strategic visit to the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
Eko Hot News reports that the engagement is designed to streamline registration and verification processes for students and teachers across Lagos State, ensuring their inclusion in the residents’ database for effective governance.

The move is part of a broader initiative to enhance collaboration between public and private schools.
It also aims to ensure accurate data capture for improved planning and service delivery in the education sector.
Prior to the visit, LASRRA held discussions with the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), led by Director-General, Dr. Sulaiman Ogundimu, to align on data standards, integrity, and collaboration across the education ecosystem.
The meeting established a framework to ensure that data collection supports quality assurance benchmarks and strengthens accountability among schools statewide.

Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, expressed optimism about the LASRRA students data integration initiative, describing it as a major step toward improving education planning in Lagos.
He emphasized the importance of enrolling both students and teachers in the LASRRA database to support recruitment processes, infrastructure planning, and the development of a comprehensive backend database of schools.
According to him, the collaboration will deliver reliable statistics and demographic insights essential for resource allocation, teacher deployment, and continuous improvement of learning outcomes.

On her part, the General Manager of LASRRA, Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, assured stakeholders that the agency would provide high-quality data, while the Ministry focuses on building a robust school database system.
Both parties also deliberated on implementation strategies to improve data accuracy, student identification, and long-term education planning in Lagos State.
It was agreed that OEQA would draft a formal proposal for the Commissioner’s approval to kick-start the school registration process under the LASRRA students data integration framework.
The collaboration aligns with Lagos State’s digital transformation agenda, with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to ensuring successful implementation.
