The Lagos State Government has commenced Phase V of onboarding additional Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) onto the CitizensGate platform to deepen inclusive governance and transparency.

Eko Hot News reports that the exercise is being coordinated by the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement as part of efforts to strengthen citizen participation and accountability across the state.

Speaking at the programme held on Wednesday at the Secretariat, Alausa-Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore said CitizensGate was created to promote direct interaction between citizens and government institutions.

She explained that modern governance demands accessibility, responsiveness, and accountability, as residents increasingly seek digital access to government services without visiting offices.

Engr. Shasore disclosed that the current onboarding exercise represents the fifth phase of MDA integration into the platform.

She revealed that 95 MDAs have already been onboarded, while an additional 25 MDAs have been approved for integration under Phase V.

According to her, the Office’s mandate to bring governance closer to the people has driven continuous upgrades of the CitizensGate platform to meet public expectations.

She noted that the platform enables real-time engagement between residents and the government while improving awareness of government actions and responsibilities.
