The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has presented training and empowerment tools to beneficiaries of its Entrepreneurship Training Programme for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), reinforcing inclusive economic growth and self-reliance across the State.

Eko Hot News reports that the presentation was held during the programme’s graduation ceremony at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, where beneficiaries received start-up tools to support the practical use of acquired skills.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Lolade Aina, reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to empowering PWDs as active contributors to economic development.

She noted that PWD empowerment remains a deliberate policy focus under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda.

According to her, the entrepreneurship programme was designed to provide beneficiaries with practical business skills, financial literacy, and enterprise development knowledge.

She said the initiative enables participants to move from dependency to productivity and sustainable wealth creation.

Earlier, Mrs Aderonke Kudirat Bello, Director of Administration and Human Resources, commended the graduands for their resilience and dedication throughout the training.

She stressed that the programme reflects the Ministry’s belief that disability is not inability.

Mrs Aina applauded facilitators and partners, noting that the empowerment tools would enhance beneficiaries’ capacity to establish viable businesses.

She assured participants of continued government support through wealth creation and job generation policies.

In her goodwill message, LASODA General Manager, Mrs Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, described the programme as a strong example of inter-ministerial collaboration.

She explained that beneficiaries were selected based on consultations with disability clusters.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Comrade Tijani Oluwadare, urged beneficiaries to use the tools responsibly.

Speaking for the beneficiaries, Miss Elufisan Anu Ajoke expressed gratitude to the State Government.

She pledged effective utilisation of the tools to grow businesses and impact communities.

Beneficiaries received hairdressing, makeup, barbering, leatherwork, phone repair, and arts and crafts kits.
