The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned the newly renovated Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque at the Lagos State Printing Corporation, marking a significant spiritual and institutional milestone.

Eko Hot News reports that the commissioning took place during a special Jumat service held within the LSPC premises.

The Governor was represented by his Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Afolabi Abiodun Muhammed Tajudeen, who performed the ceremony on his behalf.

The event attracted senior government officials, religious leaders, LSPC management and staff, as well as Muslim worshippers from surrounding communities.

Dr Tajudeen conveyed the Governor’s message, describing the mosque as a symbol of faith, unity, and institutional heritage.

He commended the LSPC management for preserving history while strengthening moral and ethical values within the workplace.

He noted that naming the mosque after Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Oseni was a fitting tribute to the pioneer chairman whose leadership shaped the Corporation’s foundation.

Dr Tajudeen encouraged staff to see the mosque as a centre for reflection, discipline, and moral renewal.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of LSPC, Hon. (Dr.) Kolawole Peregrino expressed appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu for his continued support.

He described the commissioning as a defining moment in the history of the Corporation.

Peregrino said the mosque represents both spiritual upliftment and institutional memory.

He explained that immortalising Alhaji G.K. Oseni reflects the agency’s commitment to honouring its pioneers.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye.

Others present were the major donor, Alhaji Akeem Apatira, Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola Jakande, members of the Oseni family, and religious leaders.

The commissioning coincided with Alhaji Oseni’s 80th birthday, adding deeper significance to the occasion.
