The Lagos State Government has commenced the Eko Studio Culture Free Masterclass in Music Production and other creative skills, marking another step toward strengthening the state’s creative economy and youth empowerment drive.
Eko Hot News reports that the programme, initiated through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, began on Monday with successful candidates from the recently concluded auditions starting their intensive training sessions.

The initiative is designed to nurture raw talent by equipping young creatives with industry-relevant skills, practical knowledge, and hands-on experience across music production and related creative disciplines.
The training is being delivered in partnership with Dreams Studio, Ikorodu, a well-established creative hub recognised for its expertise in music production and talent development.
Participants who scaled through the rigorous audition process are undergoing structured training sessions facilitated by seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the music and creative industries.

The masterclass exposes trainees to modern production techniques, sound engineering, songwriting, creative entrepreneurship, and the business side of the music industry.
Officials explained that the programme is structured to ensure participants gain both technical competence and a clear understanding of the commercial dynamics of the creative sector.
The Eko Studio Culture initiative aligns with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, job creation, and economic diversification.
The Lagos State Government views the creative and cultural sector as a strategic driver of inclusive growth and sustainable employment opportunities for young people.

According to the Ministry, the programme is part of broader efforts to provide accessible platforms that identify, develop, and showcase homegrown creative talent.
The initiative also reinforces Lagos’ ambition to consolidate its position as Africa’s leading hub for music, arts, and creative innovation.
At the completion of the masterclass, participants are expected to demonstrate improved technical capacity, creative confidence, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the evolving creative industry.
The LASG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that expand opportunities for young creatives and strengthen Lagos’ global creative footprint.
