The Southern Youth Forum has paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO) to commend the Chief Resilience Officer, Dr. Folayinka Dania, for her leadership and sustained commitment to youth-focused resilience initiatives across Lagos State.

Eko Hot News reports that the delegation visited LASRO to formally express appreciation for Dr. Dania’s role in strengthening resilience planning, particularly through youth engagement and community-driven programmes that support sustainable development in the state.

During the visit, the Forum conferred on Dr. Dania the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, in recognition of her dedication to inclusive governance, ethical leadership, and service to young people.

She was also honoured with the title “Most Outstanding Youth-Friendly Public Servant of the Year 2025,” an award the Forum said reflects her openness to youth participation and her impact on resilience awareness among young residents.

Responding to the honour, Dr. Dania expressed gratitude to the Southern Youth Forum for the recognition, describing it as encouragement to deepen engagement with young people across Lagos State.

She noted that beyond youth programmes, the Lagos State Resilience Office has deliberately extended resilience education to secondary schools to instill long-term resilience thinking among students.

According to her, introducing resilience concepts early is key to building a future-ready population capable of responding to climate, social, and economic shocks.

Dr. Dania reaffirmed LASRO’s commitment to institutionalizing resilience culture through partnerships, education, and sustained youth inclusion across all sectors of the state.

The visit ended with a shared commitment by both parties to continue collaborating on initiatives that empower youths and strengthen Lagos State’s resilience framework.
