Nigeria’s Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa has extended New Year goodwill messages to Nigerians, expressing optimism that 2026 will usher in renewed hope, resilience, and expanded opportunities for national growth and development.
Eko Hot News reports that the Minister, reflecting on the outgoing year, noted that 2025 marked significant progress in the education sector, while also highlighting the need for sustained effort to address remaining challenges.
Speaking during a recent interview, the Minister emphasized that lessons from 2025 would guide policy direction and implementation in the new year.
He reaffirmed that, alongside the Minister of State for Education, the ministry remains fully committed to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s vision for the education sector.

According to Dr. Tunji, priority will continue to be placed on ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality education, while teachers are adequately empowered to deliver effective learning outcomes.
The Minister stated that strengthening the education system remains central to national development, noting that education is a critical driver of innovation, productivity, and social stability.
