The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion to enable repair works on the damaged pedestrian bridge at Tincan First Gate, Apapa, inward Mile 2.
Eko Hot News reports that the repair exercise will be carried out on Saturday, December 20, 2025, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, to ensure the safety and durability of the pedestrian bridge.
According to the traffic advisory, the repair works will be executed in two phases to minimise disruption to vehicular movement along the corridor.
During Phase One, which involves the lifting and placement of bridge beams, the road from Tincan, Apapa, to Mile 2 will be completely closed for about 20 minutes, after which traffic will immediately resume.

In Phase Two, covering the installation of bridge slabs, traffic from Tincan to Mile 2 will be diverted to a single lane approximately 50 metres before the work area, with full access restored shortly after the construction zone.
The advisory added that vehicles travelling from Mile 2 to Tincan, Apapa, will move freely throughout the second phase of the repair work.
Motorists have been urged to exercise patience and cooperate with traffic officials, as the temporary closures are necessary to ensure safe repairs by the Federal Ministry of Works through the Office of the Federal Controller, Lagos.
