The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Dr Sulaimon Olagoke Ogunmuyiwa as the Director-General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), effective immediately.

Eko Hot News reports that the appointment letter was presented to Dr Ogunmuyiwa on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, by the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro.

Dr Ogunmuyiwa is a seasoned education administrator with over 25 years of experience in school evaluation, planning, quality assurance systems, and educational leadership within Lagos State. He holds a PhD in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Abuja, two Master’s degrees, and a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Lagos.

He has served in strategic roles, including Head of Planning, Head of Education Quality Assurance Services, and Director of Private Education and Special Programmes at OEQA, overseeing school accreditation, quality monitoring, and systemic improvement initiatives.

A multiple award-winning officer, Dr Ogunmuyiwa, was recognised as Best Staff of OEQA multiple times between 2012 and 2022. He is an active member of several professional bodies and has contributed extensively to teacher development and school improvement frameworks.

Dr Ogunmuyiwa is also a mentor for civil servants and young professionals, facilitating numerous training sessions for government and private organisations.

Congratulating him, Mr Bode Agoro expressed confidence that Dr. Ogunmuyiwa’s experience will enhance Lagos State’s education system. “I urge him to continue working tirelessly to ensure our education system remains a model for others to emulate,” he said.
