The Lagos State Government has spotlighted Engr. Abdulfatai Gbolahan Toriola as its Personality of the Week, recognising his decades-long contribution to infrastructure and public service in the state.

Engr. Toriola is a seasoned civil engineer with over 25 years of experience, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Lagos.
He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, reflecting his standing within the profession.
Throughout his career, Engr. Toriola has played key roles in advancing transportation and infrastructure systems in Lagos, with expertise spanning traffic management, digital integration, and transport sector reforms.
His notable achievements include leading the implementation of automated vehicle inspection centres, certification programmes for transport workers, and health insurance schemes for staff.
He has also received international recognition, including awards from the Global Ordnance Conference in Doha, Qatar, and the International Road Federation Innovation Award in 2023.
Currently serving as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Engr. Toriola is committed to promoting innovative and sustainable building practices across Lagos State.
