The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Lekan Fatodu, has received Super Falcons forward Folashade Ijamilusi during a courtesy visit to his office at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
Eko Hot News reports that the meeting highlighted the State Government’s ongoing commitment to securing increased support from private individuals and corporate organisations to strengthen sports development across Lagos.
Fatodu stated that meaningful progress in sports requires the right structures, adequate support, and collaborative efforts from all critical stakeholders working together toward shared objectives.
He praised Ijamilusi, who was part of the Nigerian squad that won the WAFCON trophy in Morocco, acknowledging her contributions to the growth of football and her advocacy for education and youth development.
The DG noted that her achievements continue to inspire young girls in Lagos, especially those pursuing sports at the grassroots level. He added that her representation of Lagos at the National Championship reinforces the state’s dedication to nurturing young athletes.
Fatodu further revealed that the LSSC has established a dedicated team to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, including Ijamilusi, with a focus on advancing sports development, fostering unity, and promoting positive community engagement.
