CMB Launches 2025 Stakeholders’ Drive

The Citizens’ Mediation Bureau (CMB) has officially kicked off its 2025 IBILE Stakeholders’ Meeting and Sensitisation Campaign across Lagos, focusing on strengthening community peace through mediation and dialogue.

Eko Hot News reports that the campaign, themed Mediation in Challenging Times: Building Peaceful Communities Through Dialogue, began in Ikorodu on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, bringing together community actors, traditional leaders, legal experts, and residents for renewed collaboration on conflict prevention and resolution.

Pioneer Permanent Secretary of the Lagos CMB, Mrs Aderinsola Olanrewaju, said the initiative aims to deepen cooperation across the state’s five IBILE divisions while addressing rising conflict patterns affecting families, neighbourhoods, and businesses. She noted that Lagos’ rapid growth has increased cases of landlord-tenant disputes, family disagreements, workplace conflicts, and commercial claims—making mediation more essential than ever.

“Mediation remains a reliable alternative to litigation because it saves time, reduces cost, and helps preserve relationships,” she said, reaffirming the Lagos State Government’s commitment to accessible and efficient justice for all.

Delivering the keynote address, former CMB Director, Mrs Omotola Rotimi, shared practical conflict-resolution strategies and emphasised the importance of de-escalation in community harmony. Vice Chairman of Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA, Mr Ade Ayeni, urged residents to avoid self-help and instead utilise the CMB’s free, confidential services.

The Royal Father of the Day, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, commended the outreach, noting that Igbogbo has long prioritised peaceful dispute resolution to maintain stability and unity.

The sensitisation campaign continues across all IBILE divisions, targeting wider awareness and improved access to mediation services for millions of Lagos residents.
