The Lagos State Government has commenced a screening exercise for eligible applicants seeking appointment into the position of Permanent Secretaries in the state public service.
Eko Hot News reports that the exercise is being coordinated by the Office of the Head of Service in partnership with Human Capital Partners (HCP) as part of a structured selection process.
The first stage of the screening was conducted through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) held at the JKK Building along Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
More than 400 applicants participated in the CBT, marking the initial phase of the competitive selection exercise.
Officials explained that the process is designed to ensure transparency, merit, and professionalism in the appointment of senior civil servants.
Successful candidates from the CBT stage will advance to the next phase of assessment.
The next stage is the Executive Training, Development and Validation Process (ETDVP), which will be announced at a later date.
The Lagos State Government said the exercise reflects its commitment to strengthening public service delivery through competent leadership.
Authorities noted that the selection process aims to identify qualified professionals capable of driving effective governance.
The Office of the Head of Service is overseeing the process in line with established civil service procedures.
The collaboration with Human Capital Partners is intended to ensure a credible and standardized evaluation system.
Participants were assessed through computer-based examinations to test their administrative and leadership competencies.
Officials said the CBT stage is a critical filter in selecting candidates for senior administrative roles.
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, expressed support for the exercise and encouraged all participants.
He wished candidates success as they progressed through the various stages of the selection process.
The state government emphasized that the initiative aligns with its commitment to capacity building within the civil service.
It added that a strong and efficient public service remains essential for effective governance and service delivery.
Observers say the screening process reflects ongoing reforms in the Lagos State civil service system.
They note that merit-based recruitment will strengthen institutional performance and accountability.
The government assured that the entire process will be conducted fairly and transparently.
Further updates are expected as candidates move into the next stage of evaluation.
