Lagos State has reaffirmed its position as a leading hub for entertainment and sports in Africa following the successful hosting of the historic “Chaos in the Ring 4” boxing event.
Eko Hot News reports that the high-profile international fight night, held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, showcased top-tier African sports and entertainment to a global audience.

The event, co-sponsored by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission, and promoted by Balmoral Group alongside Amir Khan’s AK Promotions, delivered a blend of professional boxing and celebrity matchups.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the Commission, Lekan Fatodu, expressed confidence in Lagos’ growing capacity to host international sporting events, describing the state as a prime destination for global competitions and investments.
He noted that Lagos continues to lead in commerce, entertainment, and sports, adding that the successful staging of the event reinforces its global appeal and readiness to attract top talents and international promoters.
In the main professional bout, Godday Appah defeated Ezra Arenyeka via split decision to claim victory in the WBO cruiserweight contest.

The celebrity fight saw controversial Afrobeat star Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, lose his unbeaten record to skit maker Carter Efe, who secured a unanimous decision victory.
