Lagos First Lady Donates Equipment to Rehab Centre

The First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has presented home equipment to beneficiaries at the Tajudeen Olusi Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre as part of ongoing efforts to support rehabilitation and empowerment initiatives.

Eko Hot News reports that the presentation was carried out in collaboration with the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, with members of the group in attendance at the event held in Ajah.

The initiative was implemented through the COWLSO School Committee led by Oluremi Hamzat. The programme focused on equipping rehabilitees with tools needed for independent living.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including Tajudeen Olusi, a respected figure and member of the Governance Advisory Council. Their presence underscored the importance of the initiative.

Also in attendance were the Chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Social Development, Abiodun Orekoya, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Oluwatoyin Oke-Osanyintolu.

Speaking during the presentation, the First Lady emphasised the importance of empowerment through skills development. She noted that providing essential tools helps beneficiaries transition into productive and self-reliant individuals.

She explained that the initiative aligns with COWLSO’s commitment to improving lives through sustainable support programmes. According to her, empowerment remains key to long-term development.

The equipment distributed is expected to support rehabilitees in applying the skills they have acquired. This, in turn, will enhance their ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
