The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has responded to a viral video alleging inappropriate content in a nursery English language textbook reportedly used in a school within the state.
Eko Hot News reports that the Ministry has commenced an immediate investigation following directives from the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident.
According to preliminary findings, the textbook in question is not among the materials approved or recommended by the Lagos State Government for use in public or accredited private schools. The Ministry clarified that it maintains strict guidelines for educational content.
Officials disclosed that the school featured in the video has been traced to Ojo Local Government Area. Further inquiries are ongoing to determine how the material was introduced into the school environment.
