Eko Hot News reports that Lewis, whose family still controls the English Premier League club, was indicted in 2023 for allegedly exploiting his access to corporate boardrooms and sharing confidential financial information with associates, romantic partners, and even his private pilots. The billionaire later admitted wrongdoing, cooperated with authorities, and paid a $5 million fine, according to a White House statement shared with NBC News.
The White House said the 88-year-old, who resides in the Bahamas, sought the pardon so he could receive medical treatment in the United States and visit his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lewis, one of the world’s wealthiest businessmen with an estimated net worth of $6.9 billion, will now be able to travel freely to the U.S. following Trump’s decision.
