Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has described the Nigeria Industrial Policy (NIP) as a decisive step towards transforming Nigeria into a productive and globally competitive economy.

Eko Hot News reports that the Governor made the remarks at the public presentation of the policy by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.

Represented by Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs Folashade Bada Ambrose, Sanwo-Olu said the true measure of a nation lies in the jobs it creates and the opportunities it provides for its citizens.

He noted that Nigeria must end the cycle of exporting raw materials and importing finished goods, stressing that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu is confronting structural economic challenges through reforms and infrastructure development.

According to him, the policy builds on macroeconomic reforms introduced under the current administration and signals a shift from policy intention to tangible industrial action.

The Governor affirmed Lagos’ readiness to align with the national vision, describing the state as Nigeria’s commercial hub with strong industrial clusters and a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
