Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has attended the Lens for Good 2026 Storytellers’ Conference held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, National Theatre, Lagos.

Eko Hot News reports that the conference brought together creatives, storytellers, and young talents to explore the power of visual narratives in shaping society, culture, and identity.

Speaking after the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that visual storytelling goes beyond entertainment, stressing that it inspires, educates, and connects people across communities.

He explained that stories play a critical role in shaping how societies see themselves and how they are perceived by others, adding that the narratives chosen reflect shared values and future aspirations.

Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction at seeing the National Theatre vibrant once again, filled with young creatives actively learning, creating, and dreaming.

He said the renewed energy within the iconic cultural space reaffirmed the importance of the state’s investment in restoring the National Theatre.

The governor explained that the restoration was aimed at providing a befitting home for the next generation of African storytellers to hone their craft and understand the responsibility of telling impactful stories.

He described the theatre as a space designed to nurture talent, creativity, and innovation within the creative industry.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also highlighted the view of the Lagos Blue Line Rail from the rooftop of the theatre, describing it as a symbol of progress and a success story in the state’s transport infrastructure.
