Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, has praised Lagos Traffic Radio for its role in promoting government policies and enhancing traffic management awareness across the state.

Eko Hot News reports that the commendation was given during the station’s 2026 Management Retreat held at Novotel Hotel Lekki, where stakeholders gathered to discuss strategies for improved organisational productivity.

The retreat, themed “Enhancing Organisational Productivity: Aligning People, Performance, and Purpose,” focused on strengthening internal systems and improving service delivery through innovation and collaboration.

Mr. Omotoso encouraged the station to leverage modern technology to expand its reach and improve communication. He stressed the need for creative content strategies to maintain relevance in a competitive media environment.

He also urged the station to strengthen its social media presence and adopt visual tools such as graphics to enhance message clarity. According to him, effective communication is key to engaging a wider audience.

The Commissioner highlighted the importance of continuous staff development. He noted that training must translate into improved performance and measurable outcomes within the organisation.

In his goodwill message, Stephen Ogundipe, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Strategy, and Security, commended the leadership of the General Manager, Tayo Akanle.

He called on staff members to continue building their skills and capacity, describing them as ambassadors of both the station and the Lagos State Government.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Akanle reflected on the station’s growth and achievements. He attributed its progress to sustained investment in staff training and capacity-building initiatives.

He announced that the station would intensify its human capital development plan. According to him, two management staff members will attend specialised training programmes every month in 2026.

Mr. Akanle reaffirmed his commitment to recognising and supporting staff contributions. He stated that Lagos Traffic Radio must remain a workplace where talent is nurtured and rewarded.

He urged employees to leave the retreat with clear and actionable goals. He encouraged them to define measurable steps that will improve performance and accountability.

The retreat also featured expert-led sessions by resource persons. Babatunde Ogundiran delivered a lecture on personal mastery and leadership development.

Another session by Babajide Adetunmbi focused on building trust and achieving success through teamwork. Both sessions emphasised the importance of collaboration and self-improvement.

Other dignitaries at the event included Samuel Apata, representing Somolu Constituency II, and the Permanent Secretary, Olanrewaju Bajulaiye.

Participants engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and aligning organisational goals with performance outcomes.
