Mouka, Nigeria’s leading sleep solutions brand, has kicked off 2026 by celebrating new beginnings across the country, marking the arrival of babies born in the early hours of the New Year in partnership with public health institutions.
Eko Hot News reports that the initiative, carried out in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and healthcare facilities across 15 states, honoured 71 babies born at the dawn of January 1, 2026.
The annual initiative reflects Mouka’s longstanding commitment to improving quality of life by promoting healthy sleep habits from infancy and supporting families at a critical stage of life.

Across participating hospitals, new mothers received specially curated gift packs containing Mouka Dreamtime Baby Mattresses, pillows, toys, and essential baby care products.
In Lagos State, the celebration was held in partnership with the First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, with visits to General Hospital Ibeju-Lekki, General Hospital Gbagada, and General Hospital Imota.
Among the babies celebrated were a baby girl born at exactly midnight at General Hospital Gbagada and a baby boy born at the same time at General Hospital Ibeju-Lekki.
Mouka’s Managing Director, Mr Femi Fapohunda, said the initiative underscores the brand’s belief that quality sleep is fundamental to a child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
He noted that the Dreamtime mattress is specially designed to provide optimal spinal support and comfort for infants during their formative years.

Beyond Lagos, Mouka representatives visited hospitals in states including Oyo, Rivers, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Kano, Gombe, Plateau, and Niger to celebrate the first babies of the year.
At General Hospital Minna in Niger State, the first baby of 2026 was delivered at 1:42 a.m., followed by another birth shortly after, both of which were recognised by the company.
Parents who benefited from the gesture expressed appreciation, describing the support as timely encouragement at the start of their parenting journey.
Health officials also commended the initiative, noting its positive impact on maternal morale and community wellbeing.
With over six decades of heritage, Mouka reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the annual tradition as part of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts.
The company said it remains dedicated to supporting Nigerian families and celebrating life’s most meaningful milestones.
