The Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory Agency has held a retirement ceremony to honour four long-serving staff who have exited the Lagos State Public Service.
Eko Hot News reports that the farewell ceremony took place on Friday to celebrate decades of dedication to infrastructure safety and quality assurance in Lagos State.
The event was themed “Celebrating Excellence and Service: A Fond Farewell.”
Leading the retirees was the Director of Technical Services, Engr. Bola Adigun is a respected civil engineer with over three decades of service.
Other honourees were Senior Accountants Mr Badaru Abdullmaroof and Mrs Temidayo Salako.
Also celebrated was a Motor Mechanic Driver with the agency, Mr Adisa Babatunde.
The retirements marked the conclusion of years of technical leadership, professionalism, and public service.
Speaking at the event, the General Manager of LSMTL, Engr. Olayinka Abdul praised the retirees for building a legacy of integrity and excellence.
She said their contributions were deeply embedded in the foundations of Lagos State infrastructure.
Paying special tribute to Engr. Bola Adigun, the General Manager, described her as a mentor and pillar of technical expertise.
She noted that Adigun’s leadership extended beyond project supervision to people development.
The agency also acknowledged the other retirees as unsung heroes whose diligence ensured project safety and reliability.
Engr. Abdul emphasised that public service is a special calling with a lasting impact on communities.
She said roads, bridges, and buildings across Lagos carry the imprint of the retirees’ professionalism.
In her remarks, Engr. Bola Adigun described her years in service as a product of divine grace.
She urged current staff to remain committed, noting that dedication is always rewarded.
Also speaking, Mr Abdullmaroof Badaru encouraged civil servants to uphold patience and conscientious service delivery.
The ceremony was attended by colleagues, friends, and family members of the retirees.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the high standards set by the departing staff.
Gifts were presented to the retirees as part of the celebration.
LSMTL wished them good health, fulfilment, and continued joy in retirement.
