The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy has convened its Fellows for a BrownBag session aimed at strengthening practical leadership and civic responsibility among young leaders in Lagos.
Eko Hot News reports that the interactive session featured Dr Olajide Babatunde, Special Adviser on Enterprise Geographic Information Systems and Urban Development to the Governor of Lagos State.

Dr Babatunde challenged Fellows to embrace leadership as an immediate duty rather than a future ambition. He stressed that young people are already influencing societal progress and must take responsibility for shaping governance systems.
He urged participants to understand the link between governance, structured systems and sustainable development, noting that leadership is reflected in the standards institutions uphold.

Executive Secretary of the Academy, Mrs Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, reaffirmed LJLA’s commitment to grooming leaders equipped with practical knowledge and ethical grounding.
She explained that the BrownBag Series provides a platform for Fellows to engage policymakers directly and gain insights into governance processes shaping Lagos State.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Fellow Opelopejesu Owolabi appreciated the opportunity to interact with top government officials and described the session as both inspiring and instructive.

The event was also attended by BLDR. Florence Gbaye, General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, and Oluwasegun Williams, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Urban Development.
The engagement underscored LJLA’s collaborative approach to leadership development and its mission to nurture a new generation of responsible public sector leaders.
