The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has intensified efforts to improve parking management in Ikorodu West with the establishment of a new area office.
Eko Hot News reports that the General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, as part of preparations for the launch of the new office.
The move is aimed at enhancing traffic flow and ensuring compliance with parking regulations.
It also reflects the agency’s commitment to decentralising its operations across Lagos State.
The visit, held at the council chairman’s office, forms part of LASPA’s strategy to ensure a seamless rollout of its operations under the LASPA Ikorodu West parking management initiative.
Speaking during the engagement, Adelabu reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders and residents to actualise the Lagos State Government’s policy on effective parking management.
She noted that the establishment of the Ikorodu office demonstrates LASPA’s resolve to bring its services closer to communities and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
In his response, Olanrewaju welcomed the LASPA team and commended the agency for siting an area office within the council, noting that the development would significantly improve parking coordination and traffic movement in the area.
He added that the presence of LASPA would contribute to socio-economic growth while addressing parking challenges in Ikorodu West.
The council chairman also assured the Authority of the community’s full support and cooperation to ensure the success of the LASPA Ikorodu West parking management operations.
A major highlight of the visit was an inspection of the soon-to-be-commissioned LASPA Area Office, where the team assessed the readiness of the facility, including the availability of essential equipment for immediate take-off.
The new office is expected to play a critical role in enforcing parking regulations and improving urban mobility within Ikorodu West and its environs.
