The Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget has strengthened its commitment to data-driven governance with a capacity-building training on performance monitoring and evaluation.

Eko Hot News reports that the training focused on developing and implementing efficient systems for evidence-based decision-making and effective result tracking across government operations.

The programme brought together key stakeholders, planning officers, and statisticians from core departments within the Ministry. It is aimed at improving institutional capacity and service delivery.

Participants were trained on performance tracking, accountability, and data management. The initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES Plus Agenda.

Orojimi emphasised that achieving government objectives requires more than planning. He stressed the importance of credible data and clear performance indicators.

He added that effective monitoring systems are essential for tracking results. They help ensure that government programmes deliver measurable impact.

The Director also highlighted the need to integrate key planning frameworks. These include the Lagos State Development Plan, Medium-Term Sector Strategy, Annual Budget, and Performance Monitoring Reports.

According to him, integration will ensure efficient use of resources. It will also translate plans into sustainable outcomes for residents.
