The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has organised a one-day induction and training programme for 2025 Batch NYSC corps members in the medical field on the Pedagogy of Health.
Eko Hot News reports that the training, held at the Adeyemo-Bero Auditorium, aimed to equip corps members with international best practices and essential skills for effective healthcare delivery.
Delivering the keynote address, the Honourable Commissioner, Mr Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, stressed the importance of structured training to ensure corps members discharge their duties without endangering lives.

He described medical corps members as carrying higher responsibilities, noting that proper orientation is critical to handling patients and health-related challenges across schools and communities.
Mr Ogunlende assured participants that the Ministry would sustain the programme to ensure all corps members deployed to Lagos are adequately prepared for service.
He explained that the initiative would equip health ambassadors with effective communication strategies, engagement techniques, basic public health principles, and ethical standards for responsible health information delivery.

The Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu emphasised that knowledge alone is insufficient without the right teaching methods and professional conduct.
Represented by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Abiodun Dina, she urged participants to be innovative, collaborative, and technology-driven in their approach to healthcare service.

She further encouraged them to uphold professionalism, integrity, and compassion in all their engagements to remain relevant and impactful.
The programme underscores Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare education and ensuring quality service delivery through well-trained NYSC medical personnel.
