The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting the welfare and dignity of senior citizens across Lagos State.
Eko Hot News reports that the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, made the statement during an event organised to commemorate the International Day of the Elderly at the People’s Home.
The event brought together senior citizens, government officials, and staff of the Ministry to celebrate the contributions of elderly residents to society.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for the state government to reaffirm its commitment to inclusive governance and social support.
Speaking during the programme, the Commissioner emphasised that elderly citizens should not be overlooked in development plans.
