The Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, attended a public sensitisation and presentation of the state’s progress under the HOPE-GOV initiative.

Eko Hot News reports that the event took place at Lagos House Marina and highlighted reforms in governance, primary healthcare, and basic education.

In his goodwill message, Agoro described HOPE-GOV as a strategic collaboration involving the World Bank, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Lagos State Government. He explained that the initiative is designed to strengthen governance systems that support human capital development.

He noted that Lagos State is not only participating in the programme but also playing a leading role in its implementation. According to him, the state has consistently demonstrated commitment to reforms that improve public service delivery.

Agoro highlighted key achievements recorded through the initiative. These include improved transparency and faster service delivery across government institutions in Lagos.

He stressed that the impact of HOPE-GOV extends beyond financial benchmarks. The programme, he said, focuses on improving real-life outcomes for residents through better education and healthcare services.

The Head of Service emphasized the importance of quality education for children in Lagos. He added that the initiative supports efforts to provide a stronger foundation for learning across public schools.

He also pointed to improvements in access to healthcare services for families. These advancements are driven by a more efficient and responsive public sector under the programme.

Agoro reiterated the importance of collaboration among stakeholders. He noted that partnerships with development organizations and government agencies are essential for sustaining progress.

The event attracted high-level dignitaries and key stakeholders. Among them was the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who continues to champion reforms in governance and service delivery.

Also in attendance was the First Lady of Lagos State, Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. She has been actively involved in initiatives that promote health and social welfare.

The Deputy Governor, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, was present alongside members of the State Executive Council. Their participation reflected the administration’s unified approach to development.

Lawmakers were also represented at the event. Sa’ad Olumo, Chairman of the House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, attended alongside other government officials.

Representatives from the World Bank and other development partners were present. Programme coordinators and technical leads of HOPE-GOV also participated in the engagement.
