The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, has commended the winner of the 21st Spelling Bee Competition, Miss Esther Etiyemonu, for her diligence, discipline, and dedication to excellence.

Eko Hot News reports that Mr Agoro received Miss Etiyemonu, who served as One-Day Governor, alongside her Deputy, Miss Dorcas Awoyemi, and the Secretary to the State Government, Miss Olaide Jumai Salami, during a courtesy visit to his office at Alausa.

Welcoming the delegation, the Head of Service congratulated the students on their achievement, describing their selection as a reflection of intelligence, responsibility, and leadership potential.

Mr Agoro explained that the One-Day Governor initiative is designed to expose young people to governance, leadership, and public service, while encouraging civic engagement and excellence among students.

He advised Miss Etiyemonu to regard the experience as a foundation for future leadership, stressing the importance of integrity, service, and accountability in public life.

Congratulating her on winning the Spelling Bee competition, Mr Agoro attributed her success to discipline, perseverance, and consistent hard work.

In her remarks, Miss Etiyemonu expressed appreciation to the Head of Service for his support for public servants, particularly in areas of staff welfare and housing initiatives that enhance productivity.

The visit attracted several dignitaries, including Permanent Secretaries from the Public Service Office, Basic and Secondary Education, and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

Also present were the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, the Director-General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance, directors from the State Public Service, teachers, parents, and family members.

The engagement underscored the Lagos State Government’s commitment to nurturing young leaders and rewarding academic excellence.
