The Lagos youths solutions drive has gained momentum as the Lagos State Government called on young people to focus on practical and innovative approaches to addressing social challenges.
Eko Hot News reports that the charge was given by the Permanent Secretary, Health District III, Monsurat Adeleke, during the opening of the Youth Leadership, Emergency Action & Development Programme organised by the Lateef Jakande Academy.
The event, held at the NJS Royal Event Centre, brought together youths for engagement on leadership, public health, and emergency response.
Dr. Adeleke emphasised that the government is not seeking unrealistic or overly ambitious ideas but rather practical, implementable solutions that can address real challenges across communities.

“The youths are the current solution for the Health Districts and beyond. Let us get to work. Identify the problems and propose workable solutions,” she stated.
She encouraged young people to actively collaborate with the government at local and state levels, noting that their energy and innovation are critical to driving sustainable development.
According to her, the programme is structured around three key pillars: leadership orientation, emergency response awareness, and public health education, including training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Dr. Adeleke stressed that public health responsibility extends beyond medical professionals, urging youths to take proactive roles in safeguarding their communities.
She also highlighted the importance of personal development, describing leadership as the willingness to step out of one’s comfort zone and adopt a growth mindset.
The Permanent Secretary further charged participants to align their initiatives with the state’s THEMES Plus Agenda, noting that Lagos remains committed to inclusive growth driven by youth participation and social impact.
The programme is expected to produce actionable ideas that can be implemented across different communities in Lagos, reinforcing the government’s vision of empowering young people as drivers of change.
