The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) hosted the Commander of the 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Ayokunle Owolabi, and his team at its headquarters in Alausa, Lagos, to reinforce inter-agency partnership.
Eko Hot News reports that the visit acknowledged the swift and professional response of LSFRS officers during three separate fire incidents within Army formations across Lagos State. Brig. Gen. Owolabi praised the fire service for mitigating the impact of the incidents and emphasized the need for continued collaboration.
He highlighted opportunities for joint engagements, especially in fire safety training and awareness for military personnel, while encouraging the Service to intensify public education campaigns on fire prevention and safety.

Responding, LSFRS Controller General, Margaret Abimbola Adeseye, thanked the Brigade Commander and reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities across Lagos State.
Adeseye also highlighted community-focused initiatives, including the inauguration of Fire Marshal Clubs in various communities and facilities. These clubs are designed to train representatives in raising alarms, alerting the fire service, and handling basic firefighting measures before responders arrive.
