A Lagos State delegation from the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment is currently on a study tour of the Barking and Dagenham Council in the United Kingdom to understudy the operations of the Barking Learning Centre.
Eko Hot News reports that the delegation—led by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lolade Aina, Director of Employment, Mr. Shitta Lateef, and Director of Partnership, Mrs. Adeniyi—is engaging the council on programmes that support sustainable wealth creation and employment opportunities for youths and entrepreneurs.

The tour focuses on strengthening Lagos State’s job creation strategies through enhanced job centre models, deeper partnership engagement, youth employment initiatives, and innovative systems for skills development. The Ministry aims to explore global best practices that can be adapted to improve employability pathways and workforce development in line with the THEMES Plus Agenda of the present administration.

According to the Ministry, insights from the visit will support Lagos State’s efforts to tackle youth unemployment and underemployment while reinforcing collaborations between the State Government, local industries, and international development partners.
