The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District V, Dr. Oladapo Asiyanbi, has led the distribution of critical medical equipment to Primary Health Centres across the district.

Eko Hot News reports that the intervention is aimed at strengthening primary healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes in LGAs and LCDAs under the district.

Ojo Primary Health Centre in Ojo Local Government Area was among the key beneficiaries following a data-driven needs assessment.

Equipment presented to the facility included a Resuscitaire, Oxygen Concentrator and Patient Monitor.

Other items distributed were a Fetal Doppler, Paediatric Ambubag and Adult Ambubag.

Additional LGAs and LCDAs received X-ray viewing boxes and Autoclave machines to enhance diagnostic and sterilisation processes.

To reinforce infection prevention and control, consumables such as gloves, facemasks and disinfectants were supplied.

Hypochlorite and other essential materials were also distributed to improve hygiene standards.

The district provided outreach materials including parasols, foldable chairs, megaphones and outreach bags.

Officials said the materials will strengthen immunisation campaigns and community-based healthcare services.

During the visit, Dr. Asiyanbi conducted a monitoring and supervisory exercise at Ojo PHC.

He assessed service delivery at the Child Welfare Unit to identify operational gaps.

The Permanent Secretary emphasised strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control protocols.

He noted that compliance is essential to reducing hospital-acquired infections.

Asiyanbi encouraged staff to adopt the 5S methodology to maintain clean and organised workspaces.

He highlighted the importance of effective staff allocation and proper resource distribution.

He also urged regular Facility Management Committee meetings to promptly address service gaps.

Medical Officer of Health at the facility, Dr. Bidemi Sosanya, expressed appreciation for the support.

He stated that the equipment will enhance service quality and boost staff morale.

Sosanya added that the district’s close supervision ensures timely intervention when needed.
