The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, has reaffirmed the importance of cultural unity and creative expression in nation-building while delivering the keynote address at the Miss One Nigeria Grand Finale in Lagos.
Eko Hot News reports that the grand finale was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos and attracted stakeholders from the tourism, arts, fashion, and creative industries, as well as pageantry enthusiasts from across the country.

The event, themed “Unity in Diversity,” celebrated Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and showcased the country’s ethnic diversity through fashion, music and traditional performances.
In his address, Aregbe described beauty pageants as powerful platforms for promoting national unity, cultural pride and social cohesion. He said such platforms provide young Nigerians, especially women, with opportunities to serve as ambassadors of peace, leadership and positive social change.
The special adviser emphasised that Lagos State remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote culture, creativity and tourism as key drivers of economic growth and youth empowerment.

According to him, the creative and cultural industries play a vital role in projecting Nigeria’s image globally while strengthening shared values among citizens.
Aregbe noted that pageantry has evolved beyond physical beauty to focus on intellect, cultural awareness and community impact, adding that these values align with the state’s vision for inclusive development.
The Miss One Nigeria Grand Finale featured cultural displays, runway presentations and performances reflecting Nigeria’s diverse traditions and heritage.
Organisers of the event stated that the Miss One Nigeria platform is designed to nurture confident young women who can champion unity, cultural appreciation and social responsibility.
The colourful event further reinforced Lagos’ status as Nigeria’s leading hub for culture, tourism and entertainment, while highlighting the role of creative platforms in fostering national cohesion.
