The Lagos State Government has commenced a comprehensive training programme for education administrators on digital innovation as part of efforts to strengthen capacity building and improve service delivery across the public sector.
Eko Hot News reports that the training, titled “Digital Innovation and Transformation for Education Administrators in the Public Service,” was held at the Ojodu Resource Centre and attracted over 200 education administrators from various institutions within the state.

Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Olubusola Abidakun, stated that the initiative was designed to equip participants with relevant digital competencies needed to meet the evolving demands of modern governance.
Abidakun emphasised that education administrators play a critical role in driving knowledge, innovation, and development, noting that exposure to digital tools and emerging technologies is essential for improving efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
She commended the Lagos State Government for its sustained investment in training and development programmes, describing it as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to continuous professional development within the public service.

According to her, the programme aligns with the vision of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to build a highly skilled workforce capable of delivering quality services and promoting excellence across all sectors of governance.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Establishments and Training for organising the initiative. She noted that participants were carefully selected based on relevance to their roles and urged them to fully engage with the training sessions.
Dokunmu-Adegbite encouraged attendees to apply the knowledge gained to improve their performance and contribute meaningfully to the development of the education sector in Lagos State.
In a related development, the Lagos State Government also organised a separate training programme for over 100 officers drawn from various cadres of the public service. The training, titled “The Art of Strategic Thinking in a Volatile, Uncertain, and Ambiguous Environment,” was held at the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The session focused on enhancing critical thinking, strategic planning, and decision-making skills, equipping participants with the tools required to navigate complex and rapidly changing environments.
Stakeholders noted that both training programmes reflect the Lagos State Government’s broader commitment to human capital development and institutional strengthening. By investing in the continuous training of its workforce, the government aims to improve productivity, enhance service delivery, and ensure that public servants are well-prepared to meet contemporary challenges.
