The network has been assigned clear responsibilities to support community monitoring. These include identifying unusual occurrences, detecting early signals of potential disruptions and promptly reporting observations to relevant authorities.

Volunteers are also expected to enhance coordination among stakeholders. A key objective is to promote and sustain peace through structured information sharing and collaboration.

Organisers described the network as a practical extension of the General Leo Irabor Early Warning Systems Centre’s mission. The centre focuses on strengthening Nigeria’s capacity for anticipating and mitigating socio-political risks through timely information and community engagement.
