The Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development (MWID) has trained its middle-level officers to enhance professionalism and service delivery within the civil service. The two-day programme focused on “Ethics of Communication in the Civil Service.”
Eko Hot News reports that the training, held at the State Secretariat, Alausa, targeted officers on Grade Levels 01 to 12. It forms part of efforts to strengthen productivity, efficiency, and workplace standards across the Ministry.
Key sessions covered effective communication, workplace ethics, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and dedication to duty. Facilitators led practical discussions aimed at improving internal collaboration and institutional performance.

Declaring the training open, the Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Bush Alebiosu, described the initiative as more than routine capacity building. He said it was designed to foster unity, strategic partnership, and stronger team bonding within the Ministry.
According to him, the knowledge gained would reshape participants’ commitment to duty and improve performance in line with Lagos State’s socio-economic development goals. He urged officers to engage actively and embrace continuous learning.

The Permanent Secretary, Esv. Adebayo Wasiu Olayinka encouraged participants to justify the public resources invested in the training. He charged them to rededicate themselves to their responsibilities and strive for greater efficiency.
Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Akintunde Akinteye, who coordinated the programme, commended the state leadership for supporting the initiative. He noted that the training would significantly boost capacity within the Ministry.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr Musa Olaitan expressed appreciation to the government and the Ministry’s leadership. He assured that officers would reciprocate the gesture through improved service delivery.
The initiative reflects MWID’s commitment to continuous professional development and aligns with Lagos State Government’s broader agenda for excellence in public service.
