The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has graduated the second cohort of its Employability Support Project. The initiative is a partnership with King’s Trust International aimed at equipping young people with practical skills for the workforce.

Eko Hot News reports that the programme combines six weeks of intensive training with a 12-week internship. It is designed to prepare participants with industry-relevant skills and hands-on experience.

Participants received training across multiple sectors. These include ready-to-wear garment making, baking craft, and electrical and solar installation.

Other areas covered in the programme include heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Training also extended to hotel management and catering services.

Digital skills were a key part of the curriculum. Participants were trained in digital marketing, customer relationship management, and office administration.

The programme also reflects a broader commitment to workforce development in Lagos. It aligns with efforts to create opportunities for young people across the state.

Stakeholders noted that such initiatives are essential for building a future-ready workforce. They also support economic growth and innovation.

The partnership with international organisations highlights Lagos State’s commitment to global collaboration. It brings together expertise and resources for impactful programmes.

Graduates of the programme are expected to contribute to various sectors. Their skills will support both small businesses and larger industries.

The initiative also encourages entrepreneurship among participants. Many are expected to start their own ventures using the skills acquired.

LSETF continues to expand its programmes to reach more youths. The goal is to create sustainable opportunities and improve livelihoods.

The graduation of the second cohort marks another milestone for the programme. It reinforces the importance of partnerships in driving development.
