The fundraising initiative attracted contributions from government institutions, private sector leaders, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians who aligned with the vision of revitalising the National Library project.

Speaking at the closing of the fund, Senator Oluremi Tinubu described the outcome as a collective national effort driven by a shared belief in the power of education to shape Nigeria’s future.

She emphasised that the National Library, once completed, would serve as a hub for research, learning, cultural preservation, and academic excellence for generations of Nigerians.

The First Lady reaffirmed that the funds raised would be transparently managed and strictly deployed toward the completion of the library structure and its supporting facilities.

Officials noted that the National Library headquarters project, located in Abuja, has suffered prolonged delays since construction began in 2006 due to inconsistent funding.

With the fresh inflow of resources, stakeholders are optimistic that construction will resume at an accelerated pace, bringing the long-awaited project closer to completion.

Education advocates have hailed the initiative as one of the most impactful private-led interventions in Nigeria’s education sector in recent years.

The success of the Oluremi @65 Education Fund is seen as a strong signal of renewed commitment to educational infrastructure and national intellectual development.
