Dr. Kabir Adamu, a renowned security expert and Chief Executive Officer of Beacon Security and Intelligence Limited, has raised concerns over what he described as a coordinated political effort targeting Nigeria through international pressure from the United States and the United Kingdom.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Dr. Adamu questioned the timing and synchronization of the recent diplomatic and media actions directed at Nigeria.

“Donald Trump is putting pressure on us, and then all of a sudden someone is also using the UK to put pressure on the Nigerian state. I think we need to manage our own challenges. There is a game going on, and I’m not sure what it is. I only hope the Nigerian state is very conscious and able to manage it,” he stated.

The security expert explained that travel advisories issued by Western nations, including the UK and the U.S., are normal diplomatic procedures based on security assessments — not necessarily signs of a crisis.

According to him, the latest UK travel advisory did not include any significant updates or expansions in the list of high-risk Nigerian states compared to previous advisories. However, he observed that the sudden media amplification of the advisory indicates possible political manipulation aimed at building pressure on the Nigerian government.

Dr. Adamu warned that such external narratives could be part of a broader, coordinated strategy by political actors, both foreign and domestic, to influence Nigeria’s image and policy direction.

He urged the Federal Government to remain alert, analyze the motives behind such pressures, and adopt strategic measures to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and national interests.

“The Nigerian government must stay vigilant and ensure it manages this situation strategically. What appears to be a diplomatic routine may, in fact, be part of a larger political game,” he concluded.
