Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says his administration will continue to invest in initiatives that make Lagos communities safer, more accessible and better positioned for sustainable development.
Eko Hot News reports that the governor made this pledge at the 2025 Annual Community Day Celebration held at the Police College Parade Ground, Ikeja.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat, said no community will be left behind in the drive for a Greater Lagos.
He stated that the government has continued to deploy programmes that enhance safety, improve access and support long-term development across all communities.
According to him, the goal is to ensure that every resident thrives in a society that is economically viable and structurally supportive.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Community Development Associations (CDAs) across the state.
Sanwo-Olu noted that CDAs remain dependable partners whose self-help projects and community initiatives contribute significantly to grassroots development.
He urged residents to sustain the efforts that have made Lagos a preferred destination for living, business and investment.
The governor said the annual Community Day symbolises the collective commitment of citizens to strengthening grassroots governance.
He stressed that CDAs serve as the bridge between government and the people, promoting harmony and driving local development.
Chairman of the Lagos State House Committee on Local Government, Hon. Okanlawon Sanni, reaffirmed the Assembly’s support for policies that promote rural development.
Sanni said the celebration reflects a shared commitment to improving the quality of life in communities across Lagos State.
He commended CDAs for their dedication to development and for supporting the state’s growth agenda.
Earlier, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, said the celebration honours the unity and resilience that drive community progress.
Agbaje noted that the state government remains committed to fostering development through collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility.
