Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu chaired a Security Council meeting on Tuesday at the State House, Marina, to review the security situation across Lagos State. The routine meeting brought together heads of security agencies to discuss strategies to ensure safety for residents and visitors, especially during the festive season.

Eko Hot News reports that key officials present included the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 9 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. A.O. Owolabi, Group Capt. M.A. Imam, Commander 651 BSG, Nigerian Air Force, Commander NNS Beecroft Naval Base, Commodore P.P. Nimmyel, Commissioner of Police Olohundare Moshood, representative of the Department of State Services Director A.B. Alade, Secretary to the State Government Barr. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, Chief Security Officer CSP Fagbemi Adekunle, and LSSTF Executive Secretary Ayo Ogunsan.

During the meeting, the Governor expressed satisfaction with reports from the security chiefs and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace across Lagos. He assured residents and visitors that the state is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the Yuletide season, promoting goodwill and festive enjoyment.

The Council also highlighted the ongoing collaboration between state agencies and community security outfits, as well as initiatives to strengthen intelligence sharing and proactive security measures. Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed that Lagos remains a model of safety and stability, encouraging citizens to participate in fostering harmony while authorities continue to safeguard the state.
