The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended the commissioning of the new Orca Mall situated in the Business District of Eko Atlantic City, describing the project as a symbol of Lagos’ evolving status as a modern, investment-friendly megacity.
Eko Hot News reports that Governor Sanwo-Olu made this known during his visit to the mall’s launch, where he highlighted the transformative impact of such private-sector developments on the state’s economic growth and global reputation. He noted that the establishment of the Orca Mall aligns with the administration’s broader vision of building a Lagos that attracts sustainable investment, creates jobs, and provides world-class infrastructure and recreational spaces for residents.

The Governor claims that Eko Atlantic City still embodies Lagos’s new identity, which is driven by creativity, global collaborations, and a steadfast dedication to environmental sustainability. He said that the mall is evidence of the commitment of investors striving to broaden the city’s business environment and that their faith in Lagos continues to be a major factor in the city’s steady progress.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that establishments like the Orca Mall do more than beautify the skyline; they unlock fresh opportunities for businesses and contribute to the state’s revenue and employment potential. He further stated that the presence of such premium facilities will enhance consumer experience, deepen commercial activities, and strengthen Lagos’ position as the economic nerve centre of Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that the mall would not only serve as a hub for shopping and leisure but would also stimulate further development across Eko Atlantic City and neighbouring business districts. The Governor reiterated that the state government will continue to support investors by promoting policies that ensure ease of doing business and safeguard their operations.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a Lagos where both residents and investors can thrive. He applauded the vision behind the Orca Mall project and encouraged more private-sector stakeholders to key into the state’s long-term developmental agenda.

The Governor concluded by expressing confidence that the new mall will have a positive socio-economic impact on surrounding communities and contribute significantly to the overall growth and modernisation of Lagos State.
