The Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (OTCI) has concluded its annual Ideas Day Innovation Competition, themed “Generations in Sync: Harnessing Collective Strength for Public Service Innovation,” showcasing creative solutions developed by Lagos State public servants.
Eko Hot News reports that the competition featured participants within Grade Levels 8 to 16, who presented innovative projects addressing key public sector challenges, including bullying prevention, a Smart Bill of Quantities system, and Ekoscrib AI, a digital platform designed to improve efficiency in the Lagos State Civil Service.

The event highlighted the growing role of technology, collaboration, and problem-solving in strengthening public service delivery, with each presentation reflecting a commitment to innovation and community-focused governance.
A total of 15 awards were presented to recognise outstanding ideas across multiple categories, including innovation, collaboration, feasibility, and potential impact on public service performance.
The competition attracted high-level participation, with seven commissioners, seven permanent secretaries, and two heads of parastatals in attendance, who engaged with presenters and offered professional feedback on the proposed solutions.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of OTCI, Mrs Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, commended the participants for their creativity and dedication to public service innovation.
She stated that the competition underscores the importance of teamwork and forward-thinking approaches in addressing governance challenges and improving service delivery for Lagos residents.

OTCI reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing an enabling environment where innovative ideas can thrive, supporting the development of practical solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the public sector.
