Orile-Agege General Hospital (OAGH) has held a strategic management retreat aimed at improving innovation, staff efficiency, and sustainable healthcare delivery.
Eko Hot News reports that the retreat, held at Orchid Hotel, Lekki, focused on the theme “Re-inventing Healthcare Excellence: Balancing Innovation, People, and Sustainability.” In her remarks, the Medical Director/CEO, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluyemi Taiwo, reaffirmed OAGH’s commitment to enhancing service delivery through technology-driven solutions, people-centred care, and long-term sustainability.

Dr. Taiwo noted that the retreat was designed to shape the hospital’s 2026 roadmap by generating bold, actionable strategies that will strengthen healthcare operations. She added that despite challenges such as inflation and the “Japa” syndrome impacting manpower, OAGH continues to improve infrastructure, reduce waiting time, and prioritise patient care. She called for improved remuneration, better equipment, and enhanced stakeholder partnerships.
Chairman of the Health Service Commission, Mrs. Atinuke Onayiga, urged the hospital to uphold high standards and regularly assess strengths and weaknesses to stay competitive. She stressed that Nigeria’s healthcare challenges require deliberate effort, capacity building, and human resource development.

Delivering a presentation, Dr. Adedamola Dada of Redeemer’s Health Village highlighted the critical role of innovation and advanced medical technology. He called for OAGH to invest in endoscopy equipment and training to enhance diagnostic and surgical outcomes, noting that endoscopy reduces complications and speeds up patient recovery.
He further emphasised the need for a functional data system, structured general practitioner access, and continuous innovation to boost service efficiency and patient satisfaction.
The retreat concluded with a renewed commitment by the hospital’s management to strengthen innovation, improve facilities, expand technology adoption, and foster teamwork for enhanced healthcare delivery to the community.
