The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has distributed welfare materials to intending pilgrims for the 2025 pilgrimage exercise, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to pilgrims’ welfare and safety.
Eko Hot News reports that the distribution took place during a one-day orientation seminar held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
The exercise was organised to adequately prepare pilgrims ahead of their journey to Israel and Jordan.
Items distributed included travelling boxes, mufflers, head warmers, T-shirts, cardigans, ankara and adire fabrics, hymn books, and jotters.
The welfare materials were provided to ensure comfort, safety, and uniformity among pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
Speaking at the event, the Board Secretary of LSCPWB, Dr Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi, said the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s agenda of prioritising citizens’ safety.

He noted that the materials also help promote identity, unity, and cultural representation among Lagos pilgrims.
Dr Omoniyi stressed that the Board remains committed to supporting pilgrims spiritually and logistically.
He encouraged intending pilgrims to remain focused and disciplined throughout the pilgrimage exercise.
The seminar also served as an avenue to brief pilgrims on expectations and conduct during the journey.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for the consistent support and welfare provisions.
The Board assured pilgrims of continuous engagement before departure.

The first batch of the 2025 Christian pilgrims is scheduled to depart on January 31, 2026.
They will be travelling to Israel and Jordan for the pilgrimage exercise.
LSCPWB reaffirmed its readiness to ensure a smooth, safe, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for all participants.
The welfare distribution reflects the State Government’s broader commitment to organised and well-coordinated pilgrimages.
Pilgrims were advised to adhere strictly to guidelines issued by the Board.
The Lagos State Government reiterated its support for faith-based activities that promote unity and well-being.
Preparations for subsequent batches are ongoing.
