The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has held its first quarter stakeholders’ meeting to strengthen pension administration and service delivery across the state.
Eko Hot News reports that the engagement took place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the STO Resource Centre, ASSBIFI Road, Central Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.
The meeting was organised to promote growth in pension administration and improve outcomes within the contributory pension scheme in Lagos State.
Officials noted that the forum provided an opportunity to review existing processes and identify areas for operational improvement across the pension value chain.

LASPEC emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure transparency, efficiency, and timely service delivery to retirees and active contributors.
The engagement also focused on strengthening compliance with regulatory guidelines and improving confidence in the pension system.
Key stakeholders in the pension industry were in attendance, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in pension management.

Participants included Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs), annuity service providers, and representatives of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).
Also present were representatives of the Joint Negotiating Councils (JNC) Union and other relevant pension stakeholders.
Discussions addressed challenges affecting pension administration and explored strategies to enhance operational effectiveness.

Stakeholders exchanged insights on improving customer experience, prompt benefit payments, and data management.
LASPEC officials reiterated the commission’s commitment to safeguarding pension funds and protecting the interests of contributors.
They assured stakeholders of continuous engagement to address emerging issues within the pension sector.

The meeting concluded with a call for sustained cooperation among all parties to strengthen the pension system in Lagos State.
LASPEC stated that regular stakeholder engagements would remain central to its reform and service improvement agenda.
