The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has intensified efforts to promote environmental sustainability through large-scale tree planting.

Eko Hot News reports that the agency planted 1,280 trees across various locations in Lagos State in March 2026.

Officials noted that the exercise was carried out across several Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.

Epe Local Government followed with 231 trees planted.

The trees were distributed across Epe Grammar School and major road corridors.

Ejigbo LCDA recorded 124 trees planted at Chrisland College in Idimu.

Ijede LCDA accounted for 215 trees planted across public institutions.

Imota LCDA benefited from the planting of 180 trees within its communities.

Eredo LCDA recorded 50 trees planted in selected locations.

Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA had 80 trees planted as part of the initiative.

Ikeja Local Government also received 27 trees to enhance its green spaces.

The trees planted included a mix of ornamental and economic species.

These species were selected to suit the urban environment and provide ecological benefits.

They include Ashoka, Queen Palm, Yellow Elder, Cassia and Frangipani.

Others are Bougainvillaea and Dwarf Coconut, known for their aesthetic value.
