The Lagos State Government has commenced a two-day training programme for senior teachers on school safety codes and security through the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission.
Eko Hot News reports that the training, held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall in Alausa, Ikeja, is designed for teachers on Grade Levels 15–17 drawn from the six education districts across the state.
Declaring the programme open, TESCOM Chairman, Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, urged over 200 participants to collaborate with school administrators, parents, community leaders, and security agencies to ensure consistent and sustainable safety standards.

She emphasised that school safety is a fundamental responsibility that underpins effective teaching and learning. According to her, educators and students can only thrive in environments that are secure and well-managed.

Peregrino noted that safety extends beyond infrastructure to include emergency preparedness, child protection, cyber security, health protocols, and crisis response systems.
In his welcome remarks, Permanent Secretary Olawale Ojikutu encouraged participants to engage actively and apply lessons in their respective schools. He added that the Commission has lined up more training programmes aligned with the THEMES Plus Agenda.

The training, facilitated by NISREL TECHNIQUES, concludes on February 18, 2026. It aims to strengthen risk awareness, promote vigilance, and build a lasting culture of safety in Lagos schools.
