The Lagos State Government has unveiled Resilient Youth, a public art installation designed to celebrate youth creativity, resilience, and the transformative power of art in public spaces.

Eko Hot News reports that the artwork was unveiled by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, at the Ikeja City Mall Roundabout.

The sculpture was created by Mr Olaoke Wale, a former corps member of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, with support from the Ministry.

Officials described the installation as a bold representation of the strength, innovation, and determination of Lagos youth.

The unveiling formed part of the state’s broader efforts to integrate art into urban development and enhance the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.

Mr Aregbe noted that the project reflects the Lagos State Government’s commitment to empowering young creatives and promoting cultural expression.

He added that public art remains a vital tool for storytelling, inspiration, and community engagement.

The ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, alongside directors and members of staff of the Ministry.

The Ministry highlighted the project as an example of how collaboration between government institutions and young talents can yield impactful cultural landmarks.

Residents and commuters around the Ikeja axis welcomed the installation, describing it as a refreshing addition to the cityscape.

Lagos State reaffirmed its resolve to continue supporting creative initiatives that uplift youths and promote arts and culture across the state.
